Weaver’s Cottage
July 1, 2009 | Filed Under Featured
Just one of those things along the road that most people don’t notice. If you can’t read the plaquard, it says
“Weaver’s Cottage”
This stone home was erected circa 1798 on the foundation of an 18th century log building owned by John Quinn Weaver and original proprietor of the township’s [ed. West Whiteland] first tavern “The Fox Chase Inn”.
For many years the cottage was associated with the Inn, now a private residence.
It was destroyed by fire in 1976.
